Google Christmas Party Dress
The best part of moving to the Bay Area has to be Britex Fabrics. Four stories of fabric heaven. I could spend hours in that place. I found this beautiful copper flocked taffeta and just had to make a party dress out of it. The satin was initially going to be the bodice of the dress, but I couldn't find a pattern for what I wanted and didn't feel comfortable hacking into $75 per yard satin (original price, I definitely DID NOT pay that) without a pattern, so it became a sash. I found the feather pin at JoAnn.

Polka Dot Dress
Our good friend Seth Forester over at Two Minutes Derby asked Carl and I to help him out in his rockabilly-themed photo shoot for the clothing line he was launching. Of course, Carl didn't tell me the theme until three days before the shoot, and I had nothing to wear, so I whipped up this cute polka dot dress. A few weeks later, our the Peninsula Roller Girls hosted a 50's themed Skate Hop, so it served double duty. Not pictured: Gorgeous teal pumps that match it perfectly.

Rainbow Brite Costume
Rainbow Brite was not a slut, and I was very angry at all the costume shops online that try to make you believe she was. I wanted a work-appropriate Rainbow Brite costume, so I whipped up a strapless blue dress with white trim. Instead of the red suspenders and belt, I made a little jacket with blue sleeves and rainbow starts for buttons. Over the knee rainbow socks worked well for the arms and boots. I thought it turned out pretty cute. Unfortunately, my Chinese coworker thought I was dressed up as a Native American.
Pony Powered Sweatshirt
PRG <3s Ponies. We had found a similar pony sweatshirt online for like $100. I made my own with polar fleece, Halloween cat ears and a cheap sweatshirt for about $30. Yes, it's ridiculous. Yes, I do wear it in public, but only to derby events.
